Spotted a few weeks ago along the Beagle Channel near the center of Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. I find the matching bright red of his beak and feet extraordinary.
Dolphin Gulls (Leucophaeus scoresbii) are common on Patagonian coasts of Chile, Argentina and here on Tierra del Fuego, where they are notorious scavengers. This one doesn’t seem too bothered by the cigarette butt it’s posing with.
