Here are 26 photos of at least 20 different forest plants taken at or near the Mindo-Nambillo Ecological Reserve, near Mindo, Ecuador, a town about 80km northwest of Quito. Above is a Taffeta Plantย (Genusย Hoffmannia), one of about 100 Hoffmannia species. A handful of photos of the river that gives the reserve its name, the Nambillo, and a few of the cloud forest itself round out the gallery.
The 19,200-hectare reserve consists entirely of a mid-elevation cloud forest, which are typically more lush and cooler than lowland rainforests. The reserve is particularly known for its rich diversity in bird and plant life.
Identifications were double-checked via iNaturalist; if any are wrong do let me know in the comments or via email.

A few shots of the Nambillo River..

And a few more of the cloud forest itself.

Those colors and textures are wonderful. I loved the river photos, too.
Thanks – glad you like them. The river was quite inviting. Might go for a dip if I ever make it back.
Beautiful plants. The colors are amazing.
Indeed – majestic colors.
Fantastic series. Beautiful photos, Bob.
