Now I am wondering what the willet is. Looks like a whimbrel or curlew?
A little bit, but Willets have straight bills. I’m working on a Willet gallery at the moment which I hope to publish later this week.
Yes, these seem to be similar/ related to the green and red shanks we see on the eastern Algarve in Portugal. They have straighter bills. Just never heard the name Willet before! Si thanks for introducing these and I will keep my eye out for your gallery.
