I spotted this at a small plaza at the intersection of Bishop and Chardon Roads in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. It’s a solidly conservative area so I decided it would be an instructive exercise to watch its evolution over the following days.
Day 1 – stapled to a utility wall, facing west; day 2 – laying on the ground (as pictured), either torn or ripped from the pole; and day 3 – gone. Either thrown away or blown away.
This is a sculpture of track & field legend Harrison Dillard, the only man to win Olympic titles in the 100 meter dash and the 110m hurdles. And, one of my favorite athletes of all time.
