Above is a long exposure shot of Acigami, a lake shared by Argentina and Chile, facing west. This view is from Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego National Park, near the southern terminus of the Pan-American Highway, the end of the proverbial road. Few lakes on the planet are situated further south. It was as cold as it looks.
Itโs about 11km long with an average width of 1.5km; two-thirds of the lake lies within Chile where itโs known as Lago Errazuriz. It was called Lago Roca by Argentineans until 2008 when its aboriginal name, which means โelongated basketโ in Yaghan, was officially restored.
