Two flying birds of prey are caught in a brief fight mid-flight with one attacking and the other attempting to flea

That’s really about the only explanation today’s Pic du Jour needs.

I snapped this during a visit to the Laguna Nimez Municipal Natural Reserve in El Calafate, Argentina, a late afternoon that gifted me with an extraordinary Patagonian golden hour. Sixteen more images at the link below.
